Mental health care, in the hands of the people children already trust
Training from SOS Children's Villages of India for house mothers, aunts, co-workers and Mental Health Volunteers. Three things to learn: notice, support, refer.
Three levels, taken in order
Everyone begins at Level 1. The next opens only when the one before it is complete.
-
Level 1
Mental Health Sensitisation
For all staff
-
Level 2
Identification & Intervention
For co-workers
-
Level 3
Advanced Case Management
For Mental Health Volunteers
Who it is for
For everyone who lives alongside children every day. A child in distress rarely says so — they show it in their behaviour instead, and the people closest to them are the first who can see it.
The course does not make anyone a specialist. Naming an illness and deciding a treatment belong to a specialist, deliberately and always.
